ISPOR 2024: preview of the plenary sessions

The upcoming ISPOR 2024 conference, taking place May 5–8, 2024 in Atlanta, USA, will feature three plenary sessions that will explore the conference theme of HEOR: A Transformative Force for Whole Health. Here’s what to expect from each of the three sessions.

Plenary 1

Advancing Whole Health: How do We Know When We’re Succeeding?

Date and time: Monday May 6, 8:30am – 9:45am

Overview: Whole person health requires a holistic approach that considers multiple factors that promote health or disease. The opening plenary session will focus on the challenges of designing and evaluating integrated interventions aimed at promoting whole person health, emphasizing the importance of considering various factors beyond health care alone, such as health behaviors and social/environmental factors.


Plenary 2

Missing Link for HEOR: A Path Forward for HEOR Data Integration

Date and time: Tuesday May 7, 8:30am – 9:45am

Overview: The integration and linkage of real-world data allows assembly of the whole picture of how patients feel. While valuable for understanding medical product safety and effectiveness, data linkage poses challenges such as privacy constraints and accurate matching. This session will discuss these issues and reasons for optimism.

Plenary 3

AI Enabling Whole Health: Opportunities and Challenges for HEOR and HTA

Speaker: Rachael Fleurence, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD, USA

Overview: Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the life sciences and healthcare sectors, offering unprecedented possibilities for innovation, efficiency and quality. This session delves into the impact of AI, emphasizing the need for ethical and reliable use, exploring how it can enhance HTA and HEOR, and discussing how to prepare for its future implications on Whole Health.
