ChatRWD

Real-world evidence (RWE) in minutes with Atropos Health’s new Geneva OS and ChatRWD: the first generative-AI chat to real-world healthcare database solution.

Atropos Health, pioneer in healthcare RWE generation, has announced the launch of two new solutions that advance and accelerate evidence generation:

  1. Geneva OS™ (GENerative EVidence Acceleration Operating System)
  2. ChatRWD™, the first generative artificial intelligence (AI) application featuring direct chat-to-database capability

ChatRWD will enable non-technical users to generate publication-grade observational research studies from the Atropos Evidence Network of deidentified patient-level real-world data (RWD) within minutes, saving organizations time and money.

The release of Geneva OS and ChatRWD adds to Atropos’ established set of RWE solutions – the Green Button Informatics Consult Service, the Atropos Evidence Network, and Atropos Evidence Library. Atropos designed the applications with clinicians, researchers and drug developers in mind, to close the global evidence gap while accelerating study and decision-making timelines.

“Evidence generation is the key to improving care and outcomes. The Geneva OS represents a critical infrastructure layer for the healthcare ecosystem that can rapidly, accurately and transparently convert healthcare data into personalized evidence,” said Brigham Hyde, Co-Founder and CEO of Atropos Health. “In addition, our ChatRWD user application represents an evolutionary jump in the speed and user experience by which evidence can be generated. Building on the core technology behind our Green Button Informatics Consult Service, users can now generate publication-grade RWE from hundreds of millions of patients’ deidentified medical records in minutes.”

Geneva OS is the first operating system developed specifically for healthcare evidence generation. It facilitates accelerated time-to-insights, and users can expect to conduct RWE-based studies in minutes rather than the industry average of weeks to months. Accelerated study and production timelines have been demonstrated to release resources and lead to significant cost savings for patients and their organizations, without impacting clinical outcomes.

With ChatRWD, Atropos is the first to tailor generative-AI-powered chat specifically for application in healthcare RWE generation. They have done so by deploying it to wield the existing proprietary technology used in their Green Button Informatics Consult Service, leveraging the vast RWD from the Atropos Evidence Network. This novel direct chat-to-database capability makes it superior for its purpose, in contrast with general models such as ChatGPT that were trained only on internet content: a recent study by Stanford’s Human-Centered AI Institute found that when 64 real point-of-care questions were posed to GPT3.5 and GPT4, the responses were not deemed consistently credible.

“There is much excitement among the medical community about how chatbots and large language models can be used to advance medicine, but general-purpose applications of these emerging technologies are not exposed to medical records and not intended for medical tasks,” Nigam Shah, MBBS, PhD, Professor of Medicine at Stanford University and Chief Data Scientist for Stanford Health Care. “Atropos’ usage of language models is in the right context, in the sense that the evidence is still generated by established statistical methods applied to de-identified medical records. It is the interaction with the evidence generation process that is taken over by a language model, driving a simple chat interaction.”

Existing Atropos Health users are already receiving access to Geneva OS and the company is inviting beta users for the ChatRWD application on its website.
