As the use of real-world data (RWD) to augment clinical trial data in the regulatory and health technology assessment (HTA) decision-making process increases, several initiatives are emerging to ensure the evidence generated is fit-for-purpose and trustworthy. Five projects, part of the MetReal cluster, have received funding from the European Union and over a 4- to 5-year period will seek to explore the usability of RWD.
