Researchers from Newcastle University (UK) have discovered that the average number of healthy, disability-free years – otherwise referred to as a ‘healthspan’ – is increasing in the population. In addition, the findings also show that this increase is also inclusive of individuals with chronic conditions. The study was published in PLOS Medicine. Retrospective real-world data (RWD) was utilized for this study, as the team analyzed data collected between 1991–1993 and 2008–2011 for the Cognitive Function and Aging Studies.
