The GetReal Institute has announced details of their 2024 conference, with early bird registration now open for the event taking place May 14–15, 2024 in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

The two-day conference will explore the growing and converging role of real-world evidence (RWE) for regulatory, health technology assessment (HTA) and clinical decision-making. In day 1 focused on ‘Shaping RWE’s Impact’, attendees will hear from experts in the field as they delve into the impact of RWE, with insights and experiences shared from both regulatory bodies and HTA agencies. The conference will continue with day 2 exploring ‘Advancing RWE Methods’, where experts will take a deep dive into the practical aspects of RWE by discussing topic such as common data models, external control arms, pragmatic studies and decentralized trials. During the concluding discussion, the ‘Regulatory & HTA Town Hall’ will present tangible steps forward, offering a platform for all stakeholders to contribute their perspectives and collectively discuss how to advance the acceptability of RWE.

Speaking to The Evidence Base about the conference, Shahid Hanif explained:

“We are seeing growing convergence in using RWE among and between regulatory and HTA Agencies. This is an opportunity to discuss the synergies but also the different considerations. In this conference we want to try and focus on the regulatory and the HTA, but also where these two worlds overlap so that we can be more efficient in using RWD/RWE resources, streamlining processes and better informing decision-making.”
