The GRASP-DC registry will eventually contain the largest and most comprehensive collection of real-world data on treatment outcomes for up to 1000 people with Dupuytren’s contracture.

The specialty pharmaceutical company Endo International has shared news that the registry study GRASP-DC (Generating Real-world Ambispective data to Study Participant treatment outcomes for Dupuytren’s Contracture) is now underway with enrollment of the first patient. The non-interventional study will include almost 1000 patients with Dupuytren’s contracture (DC) and will collect real-world data (RWD) on quality of life, rationale for treatment choices, functional outcomes, activities before and after treatment, treatment satisfaction, and self-reported treatment effectiveness. This will enable researchers to obtain a more holistic overview of the natural history and treatment outcomes of patients with DC.

DC is a lifelong, progressive condition of the hands that affects approximately 14 million people in the US alone. GRASP-DC will take place in 15 sites and newly treated patients will be followed for up to 3 years. RWD will be collected from both patients and healthcare providers. The study is being run by a steering committee that includes Endo and Pulse Infoframe, a real-world evidence generation, health informatics, and insights company. Several healthcare professionals are also involved, including Dr Philip Blazar of Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital/Harvard Medical School, Dr Gary Pess of Central Jersey Hand Surgery, and James Verheyden at The Center for Orthopedic & Neurosurgical Care & Research.

Verheyden explained, “Due to the low diagnosis rate and typically slow progression of DC, the currently available data on the condition is insufficient,” he continued, “This study will result in the creation of a single registry to facilitate more comprehensive knowledge of treatment and management using real-world evidence.”
