Flatiron Health and Smirta collaborate to enhance oncology scheduling within OncoEMR platform

Flatiron Health and Smirta collaborate to integrate OncoSmart^® into OncoEMR^®, enhancing oncology scheduling for improved patient care.

Flatiron Health, a health technology company specializing in oncology care, has partnered with Smirta, a digital health firm specializing in data-driven solutions for oncology practices. The collaboration aims to integrate Smirta’s scheduling tool, OncoSmart, into Flatiron’s electronic medical record (EMR) OncoEMR platform, with the goal of optimizing scheduling processes within oncology practices in the US.

The main objective of this partnership is to enhance scheduling efficiency within OncoEMR, facilitating improved treatment scheduling and resource allocation. By integrating OncoSmart, the aim is to achieve a more balanced patient schedule throughout the day, ultimately reducing healthcare provider burnout and improving the financial stability of practices.

Addressing the significance of improved scheduling, Nina Chavez, VP Strategic Partnerships and Alliances at Flatiron Health, commented,

This collaboration builds upon the successful deployment of OncoSmart at various community oncology practices already utilizing OncoEMR. The goal is to extend advanced scheduling solutions to more practices within Flatiron’s network, which comprises 2000 clinicians across 800 community-based cancer care locations.

Smirta’s scheduling optimization tools have shown significant results, including up to an 80% reduction in extended clinic hours and a notable increase in unlocked capacity. These efficiency gains alleviate burdens on physicians and healthcare providers, allowing them more time to focus on delivering optimal patient care.
