A review of over 30 million people suggests that severe mental illness is associated with cardiovascular-related mortality and the situation is worsening. PLOS Medicine has recently published a review study into the association between mental illness and cardiovascular-related mortality. Findings show that people with severe mental illness, such as schizophrenia, are more likely to experience cardiovascular mortality.
