By integrating with the HealthVerity Identity, Privacy, Governance, and Exchange (IPGE) for real-world data platform, researchers can access regulatory-quality, HIPAA-compliant and research-ready data generated via the Veradigm Cardiology and Veradigm Metabolic Registries.

Healthcare technology company Veradigm® has revealed they are partnering with HealthVerity®, a provider of transformative technologies and real-world data (RWD) infrastructure. The collaboration will see Veradigm connect their Cardiology and Metabolic Registries with HealthVerity’s IPGE Platform. This RWD ecosystem provides accurate patient matching and identity resolution technology that will allow researchers to access more complete and detailed longitudinal patient records, without the fragmentation that can occur with traditional patient tokenization approaches. By leveraging this technology, researchers can gain a more comprehensive understanding of the needs of people with cardiovascular disease and diabetes, enabling more effective decision making as well as advancing research into their care and treatment.

Veradigm offers two large outpatient clinical registries in the US that capture key patient data, such as demographics, medical history, care plans and exams as well as electronic health record (EHR) data, to provide a longitudinal view of the presentation, progression, management, and outcomes of patients. The Cardiology Registry includes data on coronary artery disease, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, hypertension, and peripheral arterial disease, with over 102 million records representing 18.9 million unique patients. The Metabolic Registry is focused on tracking and improving care for prediabetes, diabetes, and cardiometabolic conditions, with over 79 million records representing 13.5 million unique patients.

Stuart Green, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Veradigm explained, “Veradigm provides life science researchers scalable access to real-world clinical data via our direct connection with the point-of-care,” he continued “With Veradigm’s Registry and EHR data on the HealthVerity platform, we are extending the reach of the Veradigm Network to further support improvements in patient care at scale.”

The HealthVerity IPGE platform, which is based on the foundational elements of Identity, Privacy, Governance and Exchange, provides a unified technology and RWD framework that enables the accurate identification of distinct, privacy-protected identities across different sources of data. This platform facilitates secure linkage and exchange of data in a manner that complies with HIPAA regulations, allowing for diverse applications.

“This collaboration will enable far greater contextualization of important registry data and will provide a more holistic view of these patients’ journeys. Life Sciences organizations and clinical researchers can now obtain comprehensive patient-level data in a privacy-protected manner that offers real-world insight into the patient to ultimately improve care for these ubiquitous conditions.” concluded Andrew Kress, CEO of HealthVerity.
