Research published in PLOS Medicine has determined that the northwest region of England and deprived areas of Wales were greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The study, undertaken by the University of Manchester (UK), utilized real-world data (RWD) to suggest that individuals in North England had up to three times the number of excess years of life lost.
