Carrot Recruitment, a Talent Partner to The Evidence Base, is led by a team with over 60 years of combined experience in life sciences and was established by industry professionals Martin and Deborah Anderson in 2006. We are a quality focused and knowledge-based talent consultancy offering a diligent and efficient service.

With both permanent and contract recruitment solutions, we are strongly networked in the UK, Europe and North America. Carrot’s offering spans the full product lifecycle with specialist Consultants operating in all skills functions across Pharma, Biotech, MedTech, and Consumer Health – this include a trans-Atlantic team who are focused entirely on the market access, health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) & real-world evidence/data (RWE/D) markets.

In conjunction with our sister company, Compass Executives, we are able to deploy tailored solutions via contingent, retained and executive search methodologies. Partnership with The Evidence Base

As a specialist and niche talent consultancy who are genuine experts in our markets, we are constantly engaging with the subject matter within our functional areas. We have been operating within the market access, HEOR and patient-centered outcomes (PCO) space since 2010. Of course, over the past few years, the collection and utilization of real-world data has become more prominent, and so more and more of our time is now spent supporting clients in these areas, to attract the best talent to their brand and of course to advise on their overall talent strategy.

Our partnership with The Evidence Base and its community offers the opportunity to share some original content around the talent markets through a monthly column. Our aim is to offer some thoughts, guidance and opinions in areas that we feel will be of interest to you. Our first piece for example will be around the importance of developing a strong and well-differentiated employee/talent brand, especially in a market where hybrid/remote working is on the rise. The article will also consider the impact of a potential upturn in the market and the challenges that might present from a talent attraction and retention perspective.

Martin Anderson, Founding Director

Martin formed Carrot Recruitment in 2006 having spent nine years in life science consulting and industry positions, initially with the Adelphi Group in Patient Outcomes and Business Intelligence, and then in commercial roles at Merck Serono. He co-leads the business strategically whilst remaining very active at a senior level within the Market Access, HEOR & RWE space, partnering with clients exclusively to source exceptional talent. Martin also consults with businesses around their talent brand and recruitment processes, offering reviews and strategic direction to help them differentiate their proposition to the talent market.

Debbie Anderson, Founding Director

Debbie began her career in consulting with Adelphi Group, supporting global pharma clients to design, collate and interpret bespoke business intelligence studies to aid strategic decisions across numerous therapy areas. She then moved to AstraZeneca as Global Market Research Manager, Oncology, and spent time at DePuy Synthes (now J&J) as Product Manager in spine and trauma. Debbie now works closely with our valued clients throughout the product lifecycle from clinical to commercialization, advising on talent strategy and managing our teams internally to ensure that we deliver on assignments efficiently.
