Partnership to utilize real-world data to help address unmet needs in Type 1 diabetes

IQVIA (NC, USA) and JDRF (NY, USA) have announced their collaboration to utilize non-identified data to help aid understanding of Type 1 diabetes and improve diagnostic accuracy by establishing a diabetes-focused, real-world data research platform. It is estimated that close to 50% of individuals with Type 1 diabetes are diagnosed as adults, over the age of 18 years. Further, almost 40% of individuals with adult-onset Type 1 diabetes may be misdiagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, which can be more common in older populations.
