New global alliance aims to accelerate adoption of decentralized clinical trials

A new global alliance of 50 life science and healthcare organizations has formed, with the aim of advancing policies, practices and technologies in patient-focused decentralized clinical research, to help increase clinical trial and research access and opportunities for all patient populations. The coalition, named the Decentralized Trials and Research Alliance (DTRA), launched on 10 December 2020 and plans to unite stakeholders from across the industry landscape – including regulators, pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations and more – to identify and tackle knowledge gaps and barriers in decentralized clinical trials and research.
