COVID-19 RWE – workshop highlights importance of global collaboration and information sharing


On 10 May 2021, Health Canada (ON, Canada) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA; Amsterdam, The Netherlands) co-chaired a workshop that convened representatives from international medicines regulators. Participants discussed the importance of collaboration and information sharing in the context of real-world evidence (RWE) and observational studies that can be used to facilitate regulatory decision-making for COVID-19 treatments and vaccines, as well as experiences and challenges associated with using RWE for these purposes [1].
